About us
Background
The name was inspired from Tabitha who was a first century follower of Jesus mentioned in Acts chapter 9. She fell sick and died suddenly but the Apostle Peter prayed for her and she was raised from the dead. We believe all girls are precious and deserve a quality of life they don’t currently have living under the control of their addiction. We believe coming into Tabitha House will restore their life back to them and enable them to live again in freedom experiencing peace and joy.
Based around the principals of the 12 steps to recovery we have a daily program all residents follow which builds structure and tackles the root cause of their addiction.
Tabitha House is managed by live in House Managers who facilitate the programme and bring 24/7 support.
The program includes group based therapy, recovery support groups, one to one counselling, volunteering, recreation, church attendance, skills development and peer support. When you have a place in Tabitha House you become part of a family who work together for the mutual benefit of each other in showing respect and support.
Tabitha House is funded through exempt housing benefit payments alongside a contribution of benefits from each resident. The recovery program and additional support is funded through external donations.
